SACKVILLE, N.B. – Tantramar residents are still digging out in the wake of today’s winter storm, which led to several cancellations and closures throughout the region.

Environment Canada, which had warned some areas of southern New Brunswick could see total snowfall amounts of up to 40 centimetres, issued a statement shortly after 6:30 p.m. lifting a winter storm warning for the region.

Although schools in the province were already closed for March Break, Mount Allison University and Sackville Town Hall closed for the day. Many Sackville businesses also closed their doors early as the storm continued to hammer the region.

Although no highways were closed in the province, RCMP warned motorists of dangerous driving conditions.

The forecast overnight and early tomorrow morning calls for a chance of flurries, followed by a mix of sun and cloud and a high of -3.
