TRURO, N.S. — A food recall warning issued on Oct. 2 has been updated to include additional products.
Several products containing diced chicken have been recalled due to possible Listeria monocytogenes contamination. These foods should be returned to the store where they were purchased or disposed of safely.
The recall was triggered by a Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) investigation of a foodborne illness outbreak.
Food contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes might not look or smell spoiled but can still cause sickness. Symptoms can include vomiting, nausea, fever, muscle aches, severe headache and neck stiffness. In severe cases, it can cause death.
