Conservative Leader Andrew Scheer will be campaigning with two of his party's candidates in the Annapolis Valley today, after spending the first part of his day in New Brunswick.

Scheer is scheduled to campaign with West Nova candidate Chris d'Entremont, the former MLA for Argyle-Barrington, in Annapolis Royal at 6 p.m. His daily itinerary also says that he will visit a business in Port Williams with Kings-Hants candidate Martha MacQuarrie.

Earlier Friday in Saint John, Scheer pledged that a Conservative government would spend $1.5 billion in its first term to buy MRI machines and CT machines to replace aging equipment and to add more machines across the country. The move is aimed at "reducing wait times for potentially life-saving tests for Canadians," Scheer said in a news release.

The Saint John announcement also reinforced the party's pledge to "live within its means to protect health care in the long term."

Before heading to Nova Scotia, Scheer planned to attend the funeral for former MP Greg Thompson in Saint Andrews, N.B.
