1919-2018 The death of Charles Robert Oulton, 98, of Port Elgin, occurred at the Westford Nursing Home, on Sunday, November 4, 2018. Born, December 31, 1919, Bob was a son of the late Charles and Marie (Blacklock) Oulton. Bob had been a veteran during the Second World War, and subsequently sold insurance for twenty-two years. In addition, he was a Silver Fox breeder and prominent standardbred racing horse trainer throughout his lifetime. His passions included racing horses and watching hockey games, in particular, the Toronto Maple Leafs. Bob will be sadly missed by 3 sons, Terry (Gail), Port Elgin, John (Linda), Baie Verte and Michael (Jeannie) Napanee, ON; a daughter, Erin (Keith) Fairweather, Port Elgin, ON, and fourty-six grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his wife Lucy; a daughter, Sharon; granddaughters, Cindy and Lisa, and by sisters Doris, Marge, and Lois. Arrangements are under the care and guidance of Jones Funeral Home. Visitation was held from their Port Elgin location, 3 W. Main St., Port Elgin (364-1300) on Tuesday, November 6, 2018 from 7-9 p.m. A funeral service will be held at the Trinity United Church, Port Elgin, Wednesday, November 7, 2018 at 2 p.m. with interment to follow in the Fernwood Cemetery. Donations in memory of Bob may be made to the Trinity United Church, Port Elgin.
