Joy Beverley Wood

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Joy Beverley Wood on Monday, October 2, 2017 at the Moncton Hospital, at the age of 55. Born on Christmas Day in 1961, in Sackville, N.B., her name “Joy” aptly described the happiness and enrichment she brought into our lives. Her sweet smile and joyful nature touched everyone who came in contact with her. Joy will be lovingly remembered by her mother, Marjorie Wood of Sackville, N.B.; her father, Vincent Wood of Sackville, N.B.; her siblings, Rick of Sackville, N.B., Kim (Ralph) of Moncton, N.B., Brian (Brenda) of Amherst, N.S., Terry (Natsumi) of Japan and Becki DeWare (Todd) of Waterdown, Ontario. She was a special aunt to six nieces and five nephews. Joy was predeceased by her maternal grandmother, Hazel Hurley; paternal grandparents, Beverley and Arvilla Wood as well as by her niece, Haley DeWare. Arrangements have been entrusted to Campbell’s Funeral Home, 98 Church Street, Amherst, N.S. (855) 249-5513. Visitation will take place at the funeral home on Tuesday, October 3, 2017 from 7-9 pm. The funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday, October 4, 2017 at 2 pm. The burial will take place at the Maccan Cemetery, Maccan, N.S. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Joy may be made to the Sackville or Moncton Hospitals or to the charity of one’s choice.
