Laurie Joseph Bourgeois

BOURGEOIS, LAURIE JOSEPH 1924 - 2019 It is with sadness we announce the passing of Laurie J. Bourgeois, age 95, of Veterans Health Centre on Monday, October 21, 2019, with his daughter Catherine (Kitty) and good friend Frank LeBlanc at his side. Born in Sackville, NB, he was a son of the late Frank and Exelda (LeBlanc) Bourgeois. Laurie was a veteran of World War II and the Korean War. He had a great sense of humor, and he will be sadly missed. He was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch #26, Sackville, NB. He is survived by his daughters, Catherine "Kitty", and Laurina, both of Moncton, NB; grandsons, Michael (Dana) and John; two great-grandchildren, Mathew and Ben; sister, Irene (Ludger) Throop, Sackville, NB; nieces, Madeleine, Annette, Jacqueline (Evan); nephew, Robert (Margaret) Brun; several nieces and nephews; special friend, Frank (Norma) LeBlanc; father-in-law, Mathias Vautour. He was predeceased by his wife, Eliette; sisters, Edna (Felix) Brun and Alice (Ron) Noel. We would like to say a special thank you to the nurses and staff of the Veterans Health Centre, Moncton, for the kindness and compassion they showed Laurie during his stay at the Centre. Arrangements are under the care and guidance of the Jones Funeral Home, 70 Bridge Street, Sackville, (506-364-1300), where visiting hours will be held on Monday, October 28, 2019 from 6 to 8 p.m. with a Veterans Memorial Service at 6:30 p.m. Funeral Mass will take place from St. Vincent's Roman Catholic Church, Sackville, on Tuesday, October 29, 2019 at 11 a.m., Father Allison Carroll officiating. Burial will follow in the Holy Rosary St. Vincent Cemetery. Donations in memory of Laurie may be made to the Veteran Health Centre, Moncton, Royal Canadian Legion, Branch #26, Sackville or the Holy Rosary St. Vincent Cemetery.
