Silas Arthur Stiles

STILES, Silas Arthur It is with deep sadness we announce the passing of Silas Arthur Stiles, age 77, of Midgic, NB. Silas passed away on Thursday, October 24, 2019 at the Sackville Memorial Hospital, with loving family by his side. Born in Amherst, NS, he was a son of the late Silas and Audrey (Tucker) Stiles. Silas worked with heavy equipment for a variety of construction companies. He loved working with his chain saw, and being outdoors, continuing to cut his own wood for winter, even after becoming sick. He and Myrna were very active in the Tantramar Twirlers. They traveled the backwoods of the Maritimes on their Four-Wheeler. He will be dearly missed by his wife, Myrna Hicks, Midgic; children, Craig (Adriana), and Kim (Wade) Hicks, both of Sackville, NB; grandchildren, Kevin Beal, Sackville, Sara Hicks, and Samantha Hicks and her daughter Aria, all of Sackville; siblings, Joan (Maynard) Carter, Amherst, June Weeks, Pugwash, NS, Marjorie (Albert) Cuvilier, Dartmouth, NS, and Doreen (Brian) Seaman, Amherst; Aunt, Lila Milner, Halifax; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother Percy Stiles and an infant brother Ronald. Arrangements have been entrusted to Jones Funeral Home, 70 Bridge St., Sackville, NB (506-364-1300) where an Afternoon of Remembrance will be held on Saturday, October 26, 2019 from 2 to 4 p.m. Those wishing to make a donation in Silas's memory may do so to the Midgic Cemetery or the Sackville Memorial Hospital Auxiliary.
