Stephanie Bourque, age 99, passed away at her residence, The Drew Nursing Home, Sackville, NB, on May 29, 2018. Born April 2, 1919, in Saint-André LeBlanc, she was the daughter of the late Jaddus and Edith (Donelle) Babineau. Prior to her retirement, she worked at Mount Allison University as a custodian. She enjoyed many years at her cottage in Cap Pelé and her trips to Florida. She loved to play Bingo and play cards. She is survived by her daughter, Jaqueline Piers, of Sackville; a grandson, Daniel Bourque, and a granddaughter, Nicole Piers, both of Moncton, as well as a great granddaughter, Elisha (Matt) King, PEI, and a great grandson, Zachary Richard, of Moncton. Stephanie was the last surviving member of her immediate family. She is predeceased by her husband, Emile Bourque; her son-in-law, Ron Piers; her grandson, Gary Bourque; seven sisters, Alma, Premilia, Clorice, Lorettta, Delia, Edna, and Edmée, and five brothers, Damien, Philias, Arthur, Amédée and Edvin. A special thank you is extended to the staff of the Drew Nursing Home for the excellent care she received while a resident there and for their kindness and compassion. Thank you to Dr. Robichaud and Nurse Practitioner Megan Merritte as well as to Gloria LeBlanc for her support. Stephanie's arrangements have been entrusted into the care and guidance of Jones Funeral Home, 70 Bridge Street, Sackville (506-364-1300). Visitation took place at the funeral home on Tuesday, June 5, 2018 from 11 am until the time of the funeral service at 1 pm. Burial took place following the service at the Ste Thérèse D'Avila Cemetery in Cap-Pelé, NB. In lieu of flowers, a donation if so desired, can be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
