MOUNTAIN, Wendell Guy May 25, 1940 - October 21, 2019 It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Wendell Guy Mountain on Monday, October 21, 2019 at the Sackville Memorial Hospital, following a courageous battle with kidney failure. Wendell was 79 years of age. Born on May 25, 1940 in Shiminacas, NS, he was the son of the late Hazel (Trenholm) and Guy Mountain. Wendell was a truck driver for 38 years and was well known by all the locals. He loved gardening, pickling, bottling, cutting wood, bottling clams and fishing lobsters. Wendell had the best summer savory and always gave it away-it travelled as far away as Alberta. His children always loved Dad’s gift boxes. Wendell was an excellent father and grandfather and a wonderful husband who will be deeply missed by all of his family and friends. Wendell will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 54 years, Charlene Florence (Mitton) Mountain; his five daughters, Wanda (Leo Melanson) of Moncton, NB, Loriann (Tony Cameron) of Edmonton, AB, Karlene (Earl Blackburn) of Athabaska, AB, Karen (Brent Duncan) of Sackville, NB and Twila (Brian Langer) of Kanata, Ontario; his brothers, Mitchell (Betty) of Moncton, NB and Wayne of Sackville, NB; his sister, Brenda (Gregory Fields) of Murray Corner, NB; his grandchildren, Trinda, Trevor, Logan, Hudson, Colton, Quinton and Hailey; two expected great-grandchildren, as well as by several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was pre-deceased by his baby sister, Murielle; his brother, Leon, as well as by his special aunt, Pauline Gould. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Campbell’s Funeral Home, 89 Bridge Street, Sackville N.B. (506) 364-8188. Wendell’s family invites you to join them in celebrating his life on Friday, October 25, 2019 from 2:30-5:30 p.m. at the funeral home. The burial will take place in the Point de Bute Cemetery at a later date. If so desired, donations in memory of Wendell may be made to the charity of one’s choice.
