SACKVILLE, N.B. - Sackville will get a new ball shed this summer.

Town engineer Dwayne Acton told council last month that that staff is working on the design for the shed and a tender will be issued soon for the new building. It will replace the aging ball shed located on Dufferin Street, which is situated in between the field on Lorne Street and the town’s skateboard park.

“The ball shed that is currently at our lighted field is deteriorated - holes and falling down - and needs to be renewed,” said Acton. “So we’re going to be working on a smaller version of that.”

He said the new design will include washroom facilities, storage areas, as well an electrical room for the lighting system.

Funding for the shed has been allocated in Sackville’s 2018 capital budget.
