PORT HAWKESBURY, N.S. — Jacob Keagan found the back of the net four times to lead the Strait Pirates to a 8-2 victory over the East Hants Penguins in Nova Scotia Junior Hockey League action at the Port Hawkesbury Civic Centre on Friday.

Jason Johnson netted two goals for the Pirates, while Avery Warner and Gregor Yoell added single markers.

Quinn MacDonald and Parker Boland replied with goals for the Penguins.

Cody Smith made 37 saves for Strait. Chris Malette stopped 27 of 35 shots for East Hants.

In other junior hockey action, the Kameron Jr. Miners were defeated 7-6 in a shootout by the Cole Harbour Colts at Cole Harbour Place.

Sean Smith scored twice for the Colts, while Damien Sutton, Brady Stubbs, Dustin Sudds and Will MacRae chipped in with goals in regulation time.

The shootout winner was not available.

Mitchell Johnston had a hat trick for the Miners, while Michael Penny, Josh MacKay and Logan Struthers added single goals.

Zach Mason allowed three goals on five shots before being replaced by Joshua McCarther, who allowed three goals on 26 shots. McCarther picked up the win in goal.

Kaine Drake turned aside 32 of 38 shots for the Miners.
