FREDERICTON, N.B. – Accolades keep coming for the 2017-18 Tantramar Titans varsity girls’ soccer team.
On Tuesday, 8 May, at the 13th annual New Brunswick Interscholastic Athletic Association’s sportsmanship banquet, held at St. Thomas University, the team was named Team Sportsmanship Award winner among all squads playing high school sports in the federation’s Eastern Conference.
The newly created award acknowledges one team in each of the NBIAA’s four conferences based on the following criteria:
– Showing respect towards others;
– Creating a friendly and respectful environment while participating in NBIAA events;
– Being a gracious host and guest;
– Being modest in victory and gracious in defeat.
The Lady Titans won their first provincial championship in 21 seasons when they were crowned winners of AA senior girls soccer with a 2-1 victory over Hampton High School in the gold medal match on Nov. 4, 2017, in Campbellton, N.B.
