The deadline to report property damage as a result of recent flooding has been extended to May 30.
"More than 715 property owners have already reported flood damage over the past month, but we continue to get additional reports on almost a daily basis,'' said Public Safety Minister Bruce Northrup. "This is why we have extended the deadline to report damage by two weeks to May 30.''
Anyone whose home or business has flood damage should report it by calling Service New Brunswick at 1-888-298-8555 or online.
Reporting property damage is the first step in applying for Disaster Financial Assistance and will enable a provincial health and safety team to inspect the home or business.
The provincial government approved an assistance program for properties damaged by flooding since April 15. The deadline to submit an application for financial assistance is Aug. 8. For more information, visit the EMO website or call 1-888-553-8558.
