Live Bait Theatre

Fifty years ago this month, four young men named John, Paul, George, and Ringo, made their much-anticipated debut appearance in North America. Many of us remember exactly where we were on this momentous occasion when the Fab Four performed on the iconic Ed Sullivan Show. Well, Live Bait Theatre is hoping to give folks the opportunity to reminisce about the British Invasion and to enjoy some of the music from that time.

Plans are in the works for a tribute to the Beatles, to be held at the Sackville Legion on Wednesday, Feb. 19. The night will start off with the traditional English menu of burgers and mash, after which one can join the celebration of this amazing quartet whose influence on music still resonates today.

Attendees are invited to share their memories, to enjoy musical selections by local artists, and to perhaps lift their own voices in song.

Organizers are encouraging those who have memorabilia and other paraphernalia from the Beatlemania era to bring it along for others to enjoy. Attendees are also encouraged to outfit themselves appropriately in clothes reflective of the Beatles style; the possibilities are endless.

Plans for the evening are in the beginning stages; so if anyone has a Beatles memory to share, a talent to offer, or other inspiring ideas, all input and suggestions to help make this a one-of-a-kind, enjoyable event would be most welcome.

Further details will be forthcoming, but in the meantime, are residents are urged to mark Feb. 19 on their calendars. For more information, call Diane at 506-536-3749.
