Free Comic Book Day

Sackville's Black Bowser Comics is once again holding its annual Free Comic Book Day celebration tomorrow, Saturday, May 3.

The event gets under way at 11 a.m. and runs until the store closes at 8 p.m., but organizers warn that its best to drop in early, if possible, rather than later in the day.

"Most of these comics are focused on new readers, and specifically young readers, so kids and families are encouraged to come to the shop early in the day to take advantage of the selection," they added. "There are also free comics suited for the on-again-off-again reader and the collector of all ages."

The Free Comic Book Day costume contest will also be making its return tomorrow, with a prize awarded for the best one that walks through the door during the event.

A store-wide sale on everything in the shop – from posters to trades and toys to board games – will also be held, and every purchase wil give customers a chance to enter a ballot to win one of two prizes – a Saga #1 cover print signed by Fiona Staples or 2 tickets to the East Coast Comic Expo on May 17 – which will be drawn for at closing.

Free comics and cake will be available while supplies last.
