DORCHESTER, N.B. – Legendary rock and blues artist Matt Minglewood will return to Dorchester, Saturday, May 31, to perform his critically acclaimed Songs and Stories.
Hailing from Glace Bay, N.S. (born in Moncton) blues, folk, rock, country and Celtic are all musical threads that weave their way through the songs of this Canadian blues legend. Although he is best known for his hard driving blues & rock music, his solo show is a very intimate, up close and personal look into the life and the stories behind the songs of one of Canada’s foremost blues-rock artists. Minglewood delivers a magnificent performance filled with heartfelt stories and songs that are guaranteed to entertain.
Entering his fifth decade of touring, recording and surviving in the music business ensures that his songs portray stories filled with the humour and earthy reality of life on the road. Minglewood’s performances not only showcase great music, but also that wonderful heartfelt “down to earth bearer of good will and good times” hospitality for which the Maritimes is justly famous.
Throughout the years Minglewood has been honoured with numerous accolades, music awards and nominations including three Gold albums, an honorary doctorate from Cape Breton University, Maple Blues Society Entertainer of the Year, Lifetime Achievement Award from the Maple Blues Society in 2013 and an ECMA 25h Anniversary Award.
