The fourth annual Day of Caring will take place this Friday, June 13 in Sackville. Events will be held from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Sackville Public Library, located at 66 Main Street.
The event provides the opportunity for business to volunteer within the community, helping non-profit organizations.
A partnership of the Tantramar Family Resource Centre, Daybreak, Mount Allison University leadership class in conjunction with the United Way, the event is open to the public.
“There are two parts to the day; the main event runs from 9:30 -11:30 a.m. at the library and again from 1:30-3:30/4:00 p.m. where we will be joining corporate teams in making 125 story sacks for the local Christmas Cheer,” Cheryl Veinotte-Mackey said recently.
During the day displays will be available at the library with information on literacy as well as about the services offered by the non-profit, sponsoring organizations. Children of all ages are invited to visit the story corner from 2-4 p.m.
“At lunch we have invited local business owners to stop by for a little tea and snack at the Lion's Den along with a little entertainment; for a donation,” Veinotte-Mackey said.
Those planning to attend the luncheon are asked to RSVP by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org, on or before Wednesday, June 12.
