SACKVILLE, N.B. – Sackville’s own weekly newspaper was named the top in its class over the weekend during the annual Atlantic Canadian Newspaper Association awards convention in Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island.

The Sackville Tribune-Post received top marks in General Excellence under Class 2, receiving 840 out of a possible 1000 points, scoring high for its front page, community news, presentation, photography, sports and classified advertising.

“This dynamic tabloid packs a solid punch,” the judges commented. “A strong front page, great photography, clean reproduction, extensive coverage of local news and community events lift it to the top spot in this category.”

The Tribune-Post was also represented well in other categories as well, being named standing finalists for: best special section (Fall Fair supplement), best news story (Katie Tower), best original advertising idea (Jordan Normore), and best specialty column (Trevor Donald).
