Services cancelled at Moncton hospitals

MONCTON, N.B. – Due to the ongoing situation in Moncton, Horizon and Vitalité Health Networks have cancelled services today.

All elective surgeries and medical clinics at the Moncton Hospital are cancelled today. In addition, community mental health, addictions services and extra mural program services are cancelled until further notice.

The following services have been cancelled for the day at the Dr. Georges-L.-Dumont University Hospital Centre:

– ambulatory care clinics;

– diagnostic/medical imaging services;

– phlebotomy (blood tests); and

– public health and mental health services at the 81 Albert St. facility.

The following services will be maintained at the Dr. Georges-L.-Dumont University Hospital Centre:

– surgeries;

– dialysis; and

– oncology treatments (chemotherapy and radiation therapy).

In order to assist the RCMP, the public is asked to limit their movements and refrain from coming to the hospitals during visiting hours.
